Services

Naturopathic Herbal + Nutrition Consultation

An herbal medicine consultation is a healthcare appointment where a qualified herbal medicine practitioner assesses the patient's health, symptoms, medical history, and blood work performed by a physician to recommend and prescribe herbal remedies/supplements and nutrition recommendations. In addition, the herbal practitioner works in conjunction with medical professionals.

Cupping Therapy Consultation

Cupping therapy is a traditional healing practice that involves placing cups on the skin to create suction and stimulate blood flow to the treated area. There are several types of cupping therapy, each with its own unique techniques and variations. The main types of cupping include:

  1. Dry Cupping: This is the most common type of cupping. It involves placing cups on the skin to create suction without making any incisions. The cups are typically left in place for a few minutes and then removed.
  2. Wet Cupping: Also known as "hijama" in Islamic traditional medicine, wet cupping involves making small incisions on the skin with a sterile lancet before applying the cups. As the cups create suction, they draw out a small amount of blood. Wet cupping is believed to remove "bad blood" and toxins from the body.
  3. Fire Cupping: In this method, a flame is briefly inserted into the cup to heat the air inside. The heated cup is then quickly placed on the skin, creating suction as the air inside cools and contracts. Fire cupping is often used in traditional Chinese medicine.
  4. Massage Cupping: This technique involves applying oil or lotion to the skin and then using cups to create suction while moving them across the skin's surface. It's often used as a form of deep-tissue massage to release muscle tension and improve circulation.
  5. Bamboo Cupping: Instead of glass or plastic cups, bamboo cups are used for this type of cupping. They are typically heated and applied to the skin, similar to fire cupping. Bamboo cupping is more common in some Asian cultures.
  6. Silicone Cupping: Silicone cups are flexible and easy to manipulate. They create suction when squeezed and placed on the skin. Silicone cupping is a more modern variation and is often used for self-treatment at home.
  7. Flash Cupping: This is a quick version of cupping where cups are applied and removed rapidly in succession. It's often used to invigorate the skin and promote blood flow.

Guasha

"Gua sha" (sometimes spelled as "gua sha" or "guasha") is a traditional Chinese healing technique that involves scraping the skin with a smooth-edged tool to improve circulation and alleviate muscle tension

IASTM

IASTM (Instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization) breaks down scar tissue, releases fascial restrictions, and promotes the healing of soft tissues by stimulating blood flow and collagen remodeling. IASTM is often used to address musculoskeletal conditions, improve range of motion, reduce pain, and enhance overall function.
